PROFESSIONAL PET PORTRAITURE

YOUR PET’S STORY, BEAUTIFULLY TOLD

There's something about the way your dog tilts their head when you say their name. The particular curve your cat makes when they settle into their favorite spot. That look they give you that seems to say everything without words.

These moments matter. They deserve to be preserved with the same care and artistry you'd expect for any cherished portrait.

I photograph companions as they are — attentive, expressive, and individual. My work is rooted in patience and observation, allowing personality to emerge without pressure or performance.

SESSIONS SHAPED BY THE ANIMAL—NOT THE CLOCK

Each session begins with understanding. We talk through your pet's temperament, routines, and comfort zones—shaping the experience around what steadies them rather than what looks good on paper. Whether your companion is exuberant, reserved, aging, or unpredictable, the pace adjusts accordingly.

During the session, I follow their lead. Some animals settle quickly; others need time to acclimate. I work quietly and unobtrusively, allowing moments to unfold rather than directing them into place. The most meaningful images often arrive between poses—in stillness, curiosity, or connection.

There's no pressure to perform and no rigid timeline. Sessions unfold deliberately, honoring your companion's rhythm and boundaries. Whether working with youthful energy or an aging pet, I adapt to what they need—pausing when they need rest, engaging when they're ready, stepping back when they need space.

WHY THIS APPROACH WORKS

I use treats, gentle guidance, and yes—sometimes a well-timed command. But there's a difference between using these tools to work with your companion and using them to force compliance.

When sessions are built on rigid expectations and constant pressure, pets shut down. Ears go back. Bodies stiffen. Personality disappears. You end up with technically correct images that feel empty.

My approach starts from observation, not control. I read body language, adapt to energy, and create space for authentic moments to surface alongside the structured ones. I know when to guide and when to step back. When to engage and when to wait. When your companion is ready for direction and when they simply need room to be themselves.

The result? Portraits that feel genuine—images that capture both composed stillness and the in-between moments where personality truly reveals itself.

TOGETHER, WE’LL CREATE PORTRAITS THAT HONOR YOUR BOND

Whether your companion is camera-shy, easily distracted, or in their senior years, there's space for them here. Sessions are shaped by patience, attention, and professional restraint rather than force or formula.

Leashes? Not a problem—I specialize in seamless removal during editing while prioritizing safety during the session.

Uncertain if your pet is "photo-ready"? Most aren't, and that's exactly the point. This work is about capturing who they actually are, not who they perform to be.

Leash Removal? No Problem.

Safety isn't negotiable. Leashes stay on during outdoor sessions, then disappear in post-processing. The result looks effortless—and keeps everyone safe.

A PRACTICE BUILT ON EXPERIENCE AND CARE

I approach pet portraiture with the same attention I bring to my fine art practice: careful consideration of light, composition, and emotional resonance. This isn't trend-driven imagery—it's work designed to feel grounded and enduring, images that remain true long after the moment has passed.

My background photographing my own Hovawart, Zion, taught me the patience and observation that now define every session. Years of working with him—learning to read his energy, anticipate his movements, and honor his temperament—became the foundation for how I work with every companion.

Every session is backed by professional liability insurance through my PPA membership, and I stand behind my work with clear communication and contracts at every step.

LEGACY PORTRAIT SESSIONS

— $900+

Honoring Senior Companions with Grace and Dignity

There comes a time when we realize we're running out of tomorrows with the ones who've walked beside us through so many seasons. When every moment feels both precious and fleeting. When we want to hold on to who they are right now—not who they were in their youth, but exactly who they've become.

These sessions are designed specifically for senior pets and the families who love them. There's no rush, no pressure, no expectation that your companion perform or pose. Just gentle, patient documentation of their presence, their dignity, and the profound bond you share.

What Makes This Different?

I approach these sessions with deep sensitivity to both your pet's physical comfort and your emotional experience. We move at your companion's pace. If you or they need breaks, we pause. If they're most comfortable in their favorite spot at home, that's where we work. If being held by you is where they find peace, that's what we capture.

The goal isn't perfection—it's preservation. The way the light falls across their graying muzzle. How they still lean into your touch. The quiet wisdom in their eyes. The weight of all those years together, visible in a single frame.

WHY PHYSICAL ARTWORK MATTERS

Here's what I've learned after years as a photographer : the images that end up on hard drives rarely get seen. The ones that end up on walls become part of your daily life.

You walk past them in the morning. Guests notice them. Years from now, when your companion has aged or passed, those prints won't require you to dig through files or remember passwords—they'll simply be there, holding space for all those years together.

Physical artwork isn't about being precious or old-fashioned. It's about making sure the love you share with your companion has a permanent place in the home you've built together.

ARTWORK DESIGNED FOR YOUR LIFE

Digital files are essential for sharing and safekeeping. But your companion's story deserves more than a folder you scroll through once a year.

These images are meant to be lived with—on your walls, in albums you can hold, in spaces where you'll see them every single day.

I work with you to transform your session into artwork that feels at home in your space: archival prints that will outlast trends, heirloom albums that tell complete stories, and wall collections designed around how you actually live.
